Do over the counter topical creams work?

December 19, 2018

I’m often asked by long suffering nail fungus clients – why don’t the topical creams purchased from the pharmacy work for me?

The answer to this question lies in the fact nail fungus lives beneath the nail, in the nail bed. Unfortunately the topical creams have no way of penetrating through the nail into the nail bed.

Nail fungus is typically extremely stubborn and difficult to overcome. It’s a difficult process to reverse once infected as the fungus feeds on the protein of the nail called Keratin. Keratin is the protein that makes up the hard surface of the nail itself. It’s a nice, protected place for fungus to thrive!

At Clear Nail Laser Clinics we use Cold Laser nail fungus treatment which uses two lasers to weaken the fungus and strengthen your body’s own immune response at the same time. Thus, your body can fight the infection naturally – using its own immune system by stimulating blood flow and cell activity beneath the nail.

Cold laser enables the body to fight the fungus from the inside out (beneath the nail).

It’s extremely rewarding to see high rates of success using the cold laser approach, particularly with the backdrop of the frustrating journey our clients have typically been on before they visit our clinic.
